Peak Basketball Shoes Biography
Source:- Google.com.pkTraction - The traction starts off slick when indoors, even on a clean floor. After their break-in period it all ends up working really well… reminded me a lot of my Rose 3 experience. However, where these excel is outdoors. Not only that, but I was able to bring them from the outdoor courts to the indoor courts and they still played well – usually I ONLY hoop with a shoe indoor OR outdoor… never both since it affects the traction. Cushion - The dual density foam setup is interesting. Impact protection is the main thing to focus on here as that’s exactly what it does. Its not springy or bouncy… it just does its job without being noticed. It allows you to feel the court in a really natural way… something that I think is awesome and blows away most ‘basic’ foams such as EVA.
Material - It’s become redundant for me to go over materials. There really isn’t much diversity anymore. There is fuse, fuse… and more fuse. Once in a while we see leather make a guest appearance but fuse is pretty much where brands are at. I understand why… its cheap to manufacture and its extremely efficient when putting the shoe together and most importantly… it works. But, I like to feel different things when playing. I loved sticking my foot into my broken in shoe and thinking; ‘Yeah, these feel awesome’.
Sorry for the rant… overall, the materials here are perfectly fine. Durable and supportive. I will give PEAK props because they did use patent leather on the toe and heel panels. This gives the design some depth and it gives it a more premium feel.
Fit - They fit true to size. I can’t say for certain that they will fit all foot shapes but from what I’ve experienced… they aren’t wide or narrow… sort of ‘just right’. I think if the wearer is patient – something a lot of footwear consumers seem to lack as of late – then they will be able to break most shoes in perfectly fine without issue. I know when you try something on in-store and you feel as if its tight so you automatically want to increase the size… that’s the wrong thing to do unless you legitimately have wide feet. Shoes are meant to be worn, creased and broken in.
Lockdown is great from the midfoot back. The toe loosens up slightly after the break-in period – since its patent leather – but it didn’t have a negative affect on their performance such as dead space. This is why getting your true size is important. If you go up 1/2 size just so you can wear the shoe quickly without breaking them in then once they have been broken in they wont fit properly.
entilation - The ventilation is great. Materials are supportive enough while allowing a ton of air flow. Not much to say other than its one of the better shoes if you’re looking for something ventilated.
Support - Overall support is good. There is a TPU shank for arch and torsional support which works perfectly fine. Only complaint I have is that the fuse is very thin so after long periods of play they will lose some of its strength. Its not a huge issue but something that I noticed.
PEAK Team Lightning TP9 Performance Review 7
Overall - I’m impressed. I know that PEAK isn’t a new brand – they’re just new to me – and they have been around this long for a reason. I’m happy that I was finally able to try them out for myself and see what they were all about. If you enjoy great foam cushion in a durable package (outsole and upper) then these will do the trick. They are available within the States now as well – HERE – so if you hoop outdoors then I’d give these a try. They won’t disappoint.
